Mark Bullen

Dr Mark Bullen is the Associate Dean of the Learning & Teaching Centre at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) where his responsibility concerns the areas of curriculum and instructor development and educational research and innovation. He is also an adjunct Professor in the University of British Columbia Master of Educational Technology program and in the Athabasca University Master of Distance Education. 

Before joining BCIT in 2005, Dr Bullen was involved in managing, developing, and researching distance education at the University of British Columbia, where he held the positions of Director of the Centre for Managing & Planning E-Learning (MAPLE) and Associate and Acting Director of the Distance Education & Technology department.

Mark Bullen is leading an international research project, Digital Learners in Higher Education: Implications for Teaching, Learning & Technology. The project involves the British Columbia Institute of Technology (Canada), the University of Regina (Canada), and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain).
